Our Consultations and Quotes

Our consultations can take as long or as short a time as you would like.  You may have gathered by now that we don't do 'hard-sell'.  Basically, our consultation is a conversation to find out what you would like, or what it is you are hoping to achieve from having the work done, so we can offer the best advice.  We are an independent company so we're not tied into using any one particular profile or product, roof design or style/colour.  We don't manufacture here, and we don't have a stock of standard-sized windows (whatever a standard size is!), doors or conservatories that we want to sell to you.  We want you to have exactly what it is you want!

Generally, we would recommend that you allow about an hour, less if you're just looking for some initial guidance or advice, but longer if you have a good idea of what you're looking for and would prefer a more in depth discussion.

We don't prepare our quotations when we're sitting in your living room, but will calculate them accurately back at the office and send them through the post, generally within a couple of days.  We follow up with a telephone call about a week or two later, and then will be guided entirely by you as to how you would like to take it further.

Quite sensibly, most of our customers get two or three quotes from different companies, sometimes more, sometimes less, which got us thinking about how these quotes can be compared accurately.  For example, if one company quotes for supplying and installing a window with toughened, low energy ('K') glass, trickle vents and top quality security locking mechanisms and another quotes for the same window, but with un-toughened, non 'K' glass and a perfectly ok, but not top of the range security system, then it stands to reason that one quote will be more expensive than the other, but what you are getting is a lower specification window.  It may still be what you want, but making an informed decision is obviously going to be the best way forward.  So, to cut a long story short, we developed a list of questions and considerations that we would ask if we were having work done ourselves, and we send the list with all our quotations.  Please click here to download the file (entitled 'Are all Quotations Equal?)
